Starting 2023 April 1, drivers who are part of the Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) program won’t have to complete an advanced road test to obtain a full Class 5 or Class 6 driver’s license.
GDL drivers must be suspension and demerit free for the last 12 months to exit the GDL program.
Starting June 25, letters will be sent to drivers who are eligible to exit the GDL program to let them know they have been automatically exited from the GDL program.
If you have an urgent need to exit the GDL program like needing a non-GDL license for a job, and are eligible based on the GDL exit criteria, you can go to your local registry office to do so.
