Salary: $35,000 ~ $50,000 per year

This position requires attendance at BRC and our other partnered facilities which require employees to have proof of Covid-19 vaccination. Therefore, successful candidates must be able to provide proof of being fully vaccinated from Covid-19.

Bay River College - BRC is currently looking for an instructor who are engaging, interactive, confident and adaptable to teach the EA program in online format.

The Educational Assistant program prepares the student to work in formal school settings, assisting teachers in the development and delivery of effective educational experiences for school-aged children. Course content provides the student with knowledge and skills in the areas of child growth and development; learning strategies to support curriculum for diverse learners; interpersonal skills and working as a professional team member. This program offers a combination of theoretical instruction along with practical experience in an educational setting. The goal of the program is to fully equip and prepare students to work with individuals with special needs using various support and educational strategies to aid their learning. Responsibilities
  • Delivering instructional content as per
  • curriculum, meeting learning objectives
  • Leading interactive lectures and discussions
  • Fostering interaction among students
  • Administer all assessments
  • Grade and check work, projects, and quizzes in a timely fashion according to guidelines
  • Follow procedures for recording grades
  • Maintain Attendance records

  • Attend faculty meetings and training sessions

 

Required Qualifications
  • Fluent in English
  • Exceptional communicator (both verbal and written)
  • Minimum 1 years teaching experience
  • Experience working within or knowledge of the Canadian school system
  • Experience with special needs (Autism, FASD, etc)
  • Strong understanding of diverse adult learners
  • Strong knowledge of Applied Behaviors' Analysis

Job Requirements

This is a contract position. The length of each contract position is determined by the length of the course that the instructor is teaching.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Education (required)

  • Teaching: 1 year (preferred)
  • Education Assistant field: 3 years (preferred)

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a highly qualified candidate with outstanding teaching contributions at Biostatistics and undergraduate levels. Reporting to the Academic Chair and the director of the college, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Biostatistics and is expected to be engaged in scholarly activities, curriculum development, and other professional services. Candidates who have a passion for teaching to diverse students, strive to contribute to applied education, and enjoy coaching students are encouraged to apply.

  • Will be available to teach Biostatistics or other related classes whenever asked by the college.
  • Design and Develop Curriculum, course outline and Review of modules.
  • Collection of module/ schedule from the academic department.
  • Lesson planning
    Providing guidance and support to students’ learning
  • Marking assignments / exams and its delivery
    Submission of class attendance
  • Communicating with administrative staff in other student related issues
  • Provide quality and engaging instruction to learners and evaluate their progress.
  • Ability to follow direction and complete tasks accurately as well as accept supervisory input and constructive criticism.
  • Perform college administrative and clerical activities when needed.
The Role
  • Deliver engaging courses in Biostatistics. Courses are delivered to college students in an applied setting.
  • Develop application-based learning materials and assessments tailored to students' areas of specialty.
  • Evaluate students' progress and provide timely formative feedback.
  • Provide ongoing academic support, guidance, and advice to learners.
  • Stay abreast of emerging pedagogical issues and educational technologies.
  • Under the direction of the Academic Chair, conduct scholarly activities, pursue external funding, and disseminate knowledge.
  • Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of Bay River College and its students.
  • Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners.
Job Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics or or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of post-secondary teaching experience or 1 years of industrial experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Work experience in an engineering or R&D setting would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering learner-centered courses.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in scholarly activities in a relevant field.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-work skills.
  • Ability to maintain close contact with relevant industry sectors would be considered an asset.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a highly qualified candidate with outstanding skills at Information Technology and Network Administration. Reporting to the director of the college, the successful candidate will be responsible for the internal network, computer systems and softwares and is expected to be engaged in troubleshooting and other hardware and software services.

Duties

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues.
  • Set up and maintain local area networks (LAN) and office equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates and backups.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies and systems.
  • Document technical procedures and create user manuals.

 

Skills

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Knowledge of LAN setup and configuration.
  • Familiarity with office productivity software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
