Overview
The Information Technology and Network Administrator diploma program at Bay River College equips students with the knowledge and skills required to confidently manage the day-to-day responsibilities of computer information systems in organizations of all sizes.
This Information Technology (IT) and Network Administrator diploma consists of 12 modules delivered through virtual classes and/or in the IT lab for hands-on technician training. Graduates of this program will be prepared to manage, optimize, and maintain an organization’s digital and hardware infrastructure effectively.
What you will learn
Students in the IT and Network Administrator program gain the skills needed to manage local area networks (LANs), understand wide area networks (WANs), and their connection to end-user devices. Students will also learn web server management and its integration with local networks.
Throughout the program, students develop essential IT skills such as managing system and client software, creating web pages, securing networks, maintaining user accounts, and monitoring network event logs to identify and resolve issues.
Course Features
- Students complete their studies with 200 hours of practicum experience.
- Job search workshops are included as part of the program.
- The program is an approved vocational program licensed by Alberta Advanced Education.
Practical skills you will gain
During the program, students gain experience working with local area networks (LANs), their use within wide area networks (WANs), and their connection to end-user devices. Students are also trained in web server management and its integration with local networks.
By the end of the program, students will have developed key IT skills including system and client software management, web page development, network security, user account management, and network troubleshooting through event log analysis.
